Daily result: £10.18
Today I decided to just trade a few races before taking some time off and going to watch Nottingham play rugby with my father. I traded 7 races, won on 4, broke even on 2 and lost on 1 and got a respectable profit. I am happy enough with the profit and it helped edge me closer to the £800 balance and I plan to up my trading bank to £600 this week as long as I start the week off well. I have just under two weeks left before my trading is going to begin to grind to a halt for the Christmas break as my parents house is soon to become close to bursting as my brother comes home, my eldest sister and her husband come and stay and my other sister and her boyfriend come to stay. With all of them here it is going to be near on impossible to trade but I don't want to just stop as I know it will take me a long time to get back into it.
I have been spending some time thinking about my attitude of late and to be honest I have realised it hasn't been great and I think that has something to do with my recent results. I don't think I am taking it all as serious as I need to considering it is what I want to earn my living from. I think I really need to step things up a gear - I need to start getting up earlier, spending more time reviewing my previous trades on the videos I have from each day - this is something I have let slip, I need to seriously think about new avenues and have realised that I have become to focused on just trading! Take for example the other weekend - Chelsea v Derby - I had not doubt in my mind that Chelsea would score first and win. They were what I considered a good price although a short price. I had thought and said to friends that a back of them would be a great bet - did I do it no - why? Because it wasn't trading - I deemed it to risky! There are other examples of this bit I won't bore you. I have also had an idea that I think should help me win more each day - it involves the in-running markets at biggish odds but with little risk. It may mean just one or two of them a day maybe none but I think it could easily bring in an extra £50 a week. It is something I may start before Christmas but may wait until the new year when I think I need to really step things up and treat this all as a business as my father said today!
On a side note I am a bit disappointed that a lot of the blogs I have listed on the right are no longer being updated - at least not regularly. I know people are under no obligation to update their blogs and some people such as Ray are having issues and time constraints but it would be great to see some of them updated more regularly.
Lastly, I have added an image I found on my old computer that I took of a friends P/L for a 3 month period - I have mentioned him a few times on the blog and thought it would be a good idea to add an image of what I one day want to achieve - it can be found in the 'How I am doing section' towards the bottom of the page (link top left).
All the best for the upcoming week - I hope it is a decent one for us all!

Shouldn't Nottigham be playing rugby with a ball ???!!!
Very interesting post as always mate. Reading your blog, I think you have the attributes you need to make this work for you. You obviously take it very seriously, which you must, you spend a lot of time thinking and analysing what you do and you are able to identify your weaknesses. You're doing very well in terms of profitability and I'm sure you can maintain it. Regarding Christmas, if the house is full then leave the trading, just enjoy your family being there. You don't have to trade everyday, indeed having regular breaks will keep you fresh. Just get back into it for small stakes until you pick up the threads again.
Have updated my blog now, tale of woe unfortunately but hopefully a temporary setback.
All the best
Cheers for the link Leon.Unfortunately I don;t know how to do a lot with computers so i may not be able to reciprocate.very little in fact!if you know how to do them on lastminuteliving sites let me know.if not no problem.(fulltimetrading).
A short note

Thanks
Don
JP - as ever thank you for the comments. I was sorry to see your losses on the blog. Very disheartening but keep your head and stick to what you were doing and you will make it back. As you said you are going to get ups and downs the way you bet. I know it from experience with Rix!!!!
Have you given trading the tips anymore of a thought???
I think the small blip in your own trading should be easy for you to overcome - and I think had you been able to trade recently your losses would be much less! Keep it up!
Martin - thanks for the comments.
Don - the £41k as I am sure you are aware is not mine - but a friends. He achieved much more than this and I was lucky enough to be allowed to log into his account and watch/record his trades - I may put up a video one day soon. He traded all pre-race and used to do it just through the BF webpage but did eventually switch to Bet Angel just for the one click feature. He made in excess of half a million in the time I knew him but it wrecked his life and he has now given it up - it has left him set up for life though at a very young age.
I just used the print screen button and then pasted it in to Paint which is on all windows computers.
Hi
love the blog. Fascinated by the £41k story - do you have any further details you can send me?
thanks in advance
Scott
Scott - what kind of details are you after? The basics are that he traded pre-race in the 10mins or so before the off, he had no knowledge of horses, form etc. he didnt and still doesn't believe in WOM and various other things people come up with. He believes in understanding the basics about what causes prices to move. He gave up after it was starting to wreck his life - he had no life outside of trading, was losing touch with friends etc. So gave it all up and is going back to Uni. He tried out various ideas a long the way such as purchasing expensive satalite equipment that he was told would gove him an advantage in-running. He soon realised it was a waste of thousands.
Not sure what else you want to know.
All the best.
